This a line the two of know quite well. It started as a joke several years ago when we were hanging shelves in Kevin's nursery. Sounds simple, right? Hang 2 shelves on the wall in baby's new room. Wrong! For some reason we could not hang them right, couldn't hit studs, couldn't get them level, couldn't use the anchors right, it was a mess. We were doomed into thinking that our failure at hanging these shelves somehow reflected that we were stupid, going to be bad parents and had no business ever trying to do our own work around the house.
Regardless of the project or task at hand we always seem to need a re-do, get the Spackle to cover up the holes. Perhaps it's that we are newbies to the art of home maintenance, or that my husband is a perfectionist. Whatever the project, no matter how simple, we always seem to need a re-do. Thankfully, through all these projects we are able to spend time together and laugh a lot.
